The mission of CSI is to advance building information management and the education of project teams to improve facility performance.

Founded in 1948 by specification writers of government agencies, CSI has played a pivotal role in improving the quality of construction specifications. The Institute's work was instrumental in ensuring construction quality could meet the demands of the post-war boom. CSI’s contributions include developing national standards and formats, promoting best practices in specifications, providing professional education, and offering certification credentials that have become industry benchmarks.

The CSI Acadiana Chapter brings together private sector specification writers, design professionals, facility managers, constructors, manufacturers, material suppliers, and other construction industry experts. Our chapter continues CSI's legacy of promoting education, coordination, and collaboration to foster high-performing facilities across the Acadiana region.
